Nonfiction Elements Notes and Typing "This I Believe" Final Drafts- 8/13/13

Warm Up:
-Students will take notes based on yesterday's introductory discussion of nonfiction

Work Session:
-As a class we will discuss the PHS writing rubric.  Students are encouraged to use this as a guide as they complete their final drafts today
-A majority of today's class will be spent in the department computer lab working on the final drafts of the "This I Believe" essay
-Students will conference with the instructor as they work on their drafts
-Final drafts are due at the end of class.

Summarizer:
-Students will complete a 3-2-1 Countdown based on today's work session.  This will be displayed on the department computer lab whiteboard

Homework/Reminder:
-Students are reminded to purchase their copy of Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer by 8/20/13.
